Samsung just turned living rooms into art galleries. The tech giant's partnership with London's prestigious Tate Museum brings 15 iconic masterpieces - including works by Salvador Dalí, Henri Matisse, and Mark Rothko - directly to Frame TV owners worldwide. This marks the first time pop art legends like Roy Lichtenstein have appeared on Samsung's digital art platform.
Samsung is betting big on turning your TV into a museum wall. The company's latest coup brings 15 prestigious artworks from London's Tate Museum directly to Samsung Art Store, marking a significant expansion of the platform's high-end cultural partnerships.
The move puts Samsung deeper into the premium lifestyle market, where The Frame TV has carved out a unique niche since launch. "Samsung Art Store is dedicated to providing people with the opportunity to experience world-class art in the comfort of their living rooms," Heeyeong Ahn, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, told the Samsung Global Newsroom.
What makes this partnership particularly striking is the caliber of works now available. Roy Lichtenstein's iconic "Whaam!" - a cornerstone of the pop art movement - joins the digital collection alongside Henri Matisse's "The Snail," a must-see piece from Tate's permanent collection. Jackson Pollock's "Yellow Islands" and Salvador Dalí's "Metamorphosis of Narcissus" round out the heavy-hitting lineup.
This marks the first time pop art has appeared on Samsung's Art Store, potentially opening doors to younger demographics who grew up with comic book aesthetics. The collection also features contemporary artists like Peter Doig, whose dreamlike "Echo Lake" and "Ski Jacket" bring modern sensibilities to the mix.
Samsung's art strategy has been quietly building momentum through partnerships with world-renowned institutions. The Art Store already features works from New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Chicago's Art Institute, and Madrid's Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum. Tate's addition creates a truly global collection spanning three continents.
The timing aligns with Samsung's 2025 TV rollout, where Art Store functionality now extends beyond The Frame to include Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and standard QLED series. This broader compatibility means Samsung can monetize its art partnerships across a much wider installed base.
The Frame Pro, Samsung's most advanced art TV, showcases these works with upgraded Neo QLED technology that delivers brighter colors and deeper blacks. The Wireless One Connect Box keeps cables hidden up to 30 feet away, maintaining the gallery aesthetic that's central to the product's appeal. An Anti-Reflection Matte Display ensures artworks look authentic under various lighting conditions.
